The Sushi Chef role at Food City is an exciting opportunity to join their fresh sushi program, which focuses on delivering fresh, high-quality sushi to customers directly in-store. This position involves not only the preparation and assembly of sushi products but also a dynamic customer interaction component. The Chef must engage guests warmly and be knowledgeable about the sushi menu and ingredients, as they will actively sample products and respond to customer inquiries. Working in a clean, organized manner is essential since production areas are visible to customers at all times. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing various finfish, shellfish, and fresh produce, maintaining food safety standards especially for sushi rice, and ensuring that all sushi products are carefully packaged and labeled before sale. Additionally, this role involves training and assisting other associates, monitoring product quality, shelf life, and temperatures, and assisting with inventory management and signage.
