This distinguished company emphasizes the use of premium ingredients, precise culinary execution, and delivering a high-touch guest experience distinguished by theatrical presentation. Known within the industry for its commitment to excellence and innovation, the group continually sets the standard for fine dining by blending exceptional hospitality with culinary artistry. With locations in vibrant cities like Nashville, TN, the company fosters an environment where culinary professionals can thrive, contribute to exceptional guest experiences, and grow their careers in a dynamic, supportive atmosphere.
This role is for a Sushi Chef based in Nashville, TN, offering a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 annually. The position entails the responsibility of expertly preparing various types of sushi while maintaining the highest standards of presentation and quality according to the company’s strict guidelines. The Sushi Chef will create high-quality sushi dishes, including preparing sushi rice, rolling sushi, and monitoring temperatures to ensure food safety and consistency. The role demands advanced knife skills, thorough knowledge of Japanese seafood techniques, and strict adherence to HACCP standards for food safety and sanitation. Beyond technical culinary skills, this position requires a deep commitment to guest service, ensuring that every sushi presentation excites and satisfies guests, contributing positively to their overall dining experience.
The successful candidate will be proficient in utilizing restaurant operational systems such as Compeat, Revinate, and Avero to manage inventory, purchasing, and cost control efficiently. The Sushi Chef will collaborate closely with other kitchen staff and train and supervise servers and restaurant employees to uphold the company’s operational standards. Research and development on new menu items and trendy sushi offerings are integral parts of this role, enabling continuous innovation and enhancement of the restaurant’s menu to attract and delight guests. Maintaining positive guest relations by addressing complaints and anticipating guest needs — even during busy service hours — is crucial. This role also involves preserving a clean and organized work environment and ensuring all tools, equipment, and supplies are maintained and available to meet the demands of the business.
Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during 6 to 8 hour shifts, perform manual tasks such as reaching, bending, and lifting weights up to 60 pounds, and maintaining physical stamina throughout demanding service periods. Candidates must have at least three years of experience as a specialty sushi chef or in a similar role, strong English communication skills, and a professional appearance and demeanor. This opportunity offers exceptional benefits including 100% company-paid health insurance coverage with 50% coverage for dependents, three weeks of paid time off upon hire, and a 401K retirement plan with company matching. This comprehensive benefits package underscores the employer’s commitment to the well-being and professional growth of its staff.
