The company is recognized for its comprehensive approach to safety and protection, catering to a wide range of sectors including logistics, commercial, and residential security. GardaWorld prides itself on being the only guarding security company in the United States certified by Great Place to Work, reflecting its exceptional workplace culture and commitment to its employees. This reputation is supported by the fact that 26 percent of the company’s corporate employees began their careers as frontline workers, highlighting strong career growth opportunities within the organization and promoting an entrepreneurial spirit among its staff.
The role offered by GardaWorld Security Services is that of a Surveillance Security Officer based in Lakeland, FL. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM, providing a structured schedule that offers a balance between work and personal life. The hourly wage for this position is competitive at $17.00 per hour, and employees have access to DailyPay, enabling early access to earned wages. The role involves various responsibilities centered around monitoring security systems and ensuring the safety of premises through vigilant observation and rapid response to potential threats. Surveillance Security Officers will be stationed primarily in environments such as logistics gates, security operations centers, call centers, and parking gatehouses where maintaining a secure perimeter is critical.
In this role, the officer must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and strong observation skills to detect suspicious activity by carefully scanning multiple screens and analyzing complex security systems. Duties include documenting events, writing detailed reports, and conducting regular patrols, which emphasize both proactive and reactive security measures. Officers must control access to secure areas by verifying the identities of visitors and collaborating closely with law enforcement during serious incidents or emergencies. GardaWorld underscores the importance of technology proficiency, concentration, and report writing skills in effective job performance. Additionally, those with previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement roles are especially encouraged to apply, as their backgrounds provide valuable expertise.
GardaWorld also supports its team members with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching, paid time off and holidays, disability coverage, and life insurance options. Uniforms are provided free of charge to ensure that employees are fully equipped for their duties. There is a distinct emphasis on employee safety and professional development, alongside opportunities for career advancement, making this position more than just a job but a stepping stone in a promising career path within the security sector.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S., possess a high school diploma or GED, and be prepared to pass an extensive screening process. This post requires a valid Florida Class D license, a minimum age of 21 years, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record since it is designated as a driving post. Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of background checks and drug screening. GardaWorld champions equal employment opportunities in compliance with federal and local laws, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace environment. This role offers a meaningful chance for individuals with sharp observational talents and a commitment to safety to contribute positively within a supportive and globally recognized company.
