Emerald Queen Casino is a premier gaming destination known for its commitment to offering superior entertainment and guest experiences. Located in Washington State, the casino operates 24 hours a day and is a vital part of the Puyallup Tribe’s business ventures. Emerald Queen Casino prides itself on its integrity and adherence to regulatory guidelines set forth by the Tribal-State Compact, ensuring a safe and fair gaming environment for all guests and staff. The casino offers a vibrant gaming floor featuring major table games like blackjack, craps, and roulette, alongside other amenities designed to create an engaging and dynamic atmosphere.

The role of Surveillance Observer at Emerald Queen Casino is a full-time position crucial to maintaining the security and integrity of the casino operations. This position comes with competitive starting pay of $35 per hour with a performance-based increase to $38 per hour after six months upon successful completion of a final assessment. The role also includes excellent employer-paid benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. The Surveillance Observer's primary responsibility is to monitor the casino and its surroundings through CCTV and other surveillance systems, ensuring that all activities comply with Tribal-State Compact regulations and internal procedures. This role demands vigilance, attention to detail, and a strong ability to detect any unlawful activity or safety hazards promptly.

Working as part of a team, the Surveillance Observer cooperates closely with security personnel and department heads to protect property assets and enhance overall guest safety. The position requires compiling accurate incident reports and may involve additional duties assigned by management. Candidates for this role should have previous supervisory experience on the casino floor, specifically with handling the major table games mentioned. They must demonstrate an understanding of relevant gaming laws and show dedication to teamwork, meticulous concentration, and the ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal reports. Physically, the role requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods, use manual dexterity, climb stairs routinely, and tolerate a smoke-filled environment. The casino operates continuously throughout the year, so flexibility in working shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential. Applicants must obtain and maintain a Class III A license as mandated by regulatory authorities.

Emerald Queen Casino is dedicated to fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace, offering Indian Preference in hiring in accordance with the Puyallup Tribe’s policies. This position embodies the casino’s commitment to safety, compliance, and exceptional guest service, making it a pivotal role in the success and reputation of the gaming establishment.
