Job Description

United Surgical Partners International (USPI) is recognized as the country’s largest ambulatory surgery center (ASC) platform, dedicated to delivering high-quality, efficient, and compassionate surgical care. USPI partners with physicians to develop and operate ambulatory surgery centers and surgical hospitals across the United States under the umbrella of Tenet Healthcare Corporation, a prominent healthcare services company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: THC). Known for its commitment to clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and patient-centered services, USPI supports a network of facilities that serve communities with advanced surgical care options outside traditional hospital settings. This expansive network allows USPI to provide a broad scope of surgical specialties with state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge technology, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Doctors United Surgery Center, located in Pasadena, TX, is a vital part of USPI’s network. This accredited facility by the Joint Commission features 8 operating rooms (ORs) and 4 procedure rooms (PRs), enabling a wide array of surgical procedures. The center provides services across multiple specialties, including Colon and Rectal, Gastrointestinal (GI), Gynecology (GYN), Neurological surgery, Orthopedics, Ear/Nose/Throat (ENT), Ophthalmology, Pain Management, Podiatry, General Surgery, and Urology. It is a physician-owned or invested facility, emphasizing collaboration between surgeons and operational leadership to deliver exceptional patient care.

The Surgery Center Administrator role at Doctors United Surgery Center offers a unique opportunity for a skilled healthcare leader to oversee the facility’s daily operations and foster a culture of excellence and compliance. This position focuses on managing clinical, administrative, and business functions while collaborating closely with medical staff, physicians, governing boards, and USPI’s Home Office. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in ambulatory surgery center leadership or hospital surgical leadership with ASC exposure, and a proven track record of managing budgets, quality initiatives, and regulatory compliance effectively.

This role is pivotal in driving the center’s operational and financial performance by ensuring adherence to accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. The Surgery Center Administrator is tasked with leading continuous quality improvement efforts, overseeing staffing and employee performance management, and developing strategic plans to enhance service lines and patient experience. Additionally, this role provides an excellent platform for healthcare professionals who value accountability, strategic collaboration, and hands-on leadership in a dynamic surgical environment.

With opportunity for annual and quarterly bonuses, the role is designed to reward successful operational leadership and collaboration. Joining Doctors United Surgery Center means contributing to an organization that prioritizes patient safety, clinical excellence, and operational innovation. This position is not only about managing a surgery center but about influencing the broader delivery of surgical care across the region, fostering strong community relationships, and supporting physicians' professional success.
