Job Description

American Systems is a leading provider of advanced technology and mission support services, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to government and commercial customers. With a strong emphasis on defense and logistics, American Systems has established itself as a trusted partner in various sectors, including the Naval logistics domain. The company prides itself on fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment that encourages professional growth and development. American Systems is headquartered in the United States and has a nationwide footprint, offering a wide range of career opportunities in fields such as information technology, engineering, program management, and logistics support.

We are currently seeking a SPIR (System/Software Problem/Improvement Report) Coordinator to join our team in Seattle/Everett, WA, to support HM&E testing efforts. This position requires a candidate with expertise in Navy Logistics Information Systems and an active Secret security clearance. The SPIR Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of system and software problem reporting for surface ships undergoing maintenance availabilities, specifically within the NSWC-PD Department 20 Machinery Programs and Platforms. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with at least two years of relevant experience who are looking to contribute to the maintenance and modernization efforts supporting the U.S. Navy.

As a SPIR Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive administrative support by managing and coordinating SPIR data input and monitoring activities. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately enter handwritten SPIR reports into the NSWC-PD approved SPIR Tracking Tool, ensuring that critical system and software issues are captured and tracked effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for continuously monitoring the SPIR Tracking Tool database to maintain up-to-date information on ongoing problem reports and improvements. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential as you generate weekly SPIR progress reports for customers, facilitating communication between various stakeholders.

This role demands close collaboration with multiple entities, such as the Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) Modernization Coordination Office, TYCOMM, the SURFMEPP Community, and NAVSEA, to align SPIR tracking efforts with SURFMEPP product value streams. By working alongside these key partner organizations, you will contribute to enhancing the Navy's surface ship maintenance programs, ensuring the timely identification and resolution of software and system issues.

Ideal candidates will possess a combination of technical knowledge, strong quality assurance skills, and experience with logistics systems and tracking tools. The ability to manage complex databases and spreadsheets is crucial for effective coordination and reporting. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality, honesty, and professionalism, given the sensitive nature of security clearances and the critical systems involved.

Join American Systems as a SPIR Coordinator and become an integral part of a dedicated team focused on supporting naval operations through precise and efficient system/software problem reporting. We offer a dynamic and rewarding work environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on national security and fleet readiness.
