BayCare champions a forward-thinking philosophy that ensures not only high-quality patient care but also a rewarding and supportive work environment for its employees.
The Food Service Supervisor role at BayCare is a pivotal position within the Food and Nutrition Services department at Mease Countryside. As a supervisor, you will oversee daily food service operations including preparation, distribution, and service aimed at patients, cafeteria patrons, catering clients, and other internal customers. This position requires a dynamic leader capable of applying established management principles to optimize service delivery, achieve desired outcomes, and control costs efficiently. Collaborating closely with fellow food service staff, you will coordinate daily operations ensuring smooth workflow and exceptional service standards.
In addition to operational oversight, the Food Service Supervisor plays an essential role in human resource management. Responsibilities include conducting interviews, performing employee performance appraisals, and managing progressive discipline processes. You will also be responsible for scheduling staff, providing training, and managing payroll activities. A critical aspect of the job includes contributing to inventory management efforts to ensure that the department has appropriate resources to meet its needs. The role is classified as full-time, non-exempt with varied shift hours which may occasionally include weekend work. This position does not offer remote work or an on-call requirement.
To be successful in this role, applicants must obtain the ServSafe Manager food safety certification within one year of hire, ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and standards. The employer values applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate Degree in Food Services considered a preferred qualification. Supervisory experience is essential, demonstrating the ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced healthcare food service environment.
This role offers a meaningful opportunity for candidates looking to contribute to a reputable health system, enhance their leadership skills, and develop within a nurturing organizational culture.
