Job Description

Horseshoe Casino is the premier casino destination in the Mid-South region, renowned for its vibrant gaming atmosphere and comprehensive entertainment offerings. Since its inception, Horseshoe has proudly held the position as the number one casino in the area. The casino boasts over 1300 slot and video poker machines, complemented by the largest table games area in the South. In addition to gaming, Horseshoe features a 25-table World Series of Poker themed poker room with an exclusive WSOP lounge and a dynamic sports betting venue known as The Book. Entertainment is a key component of the casino experience, and Horseshoe is home to Bluesville, a 1400-seat music venue that hosts headline acts in an intimate setting.

Within the hospitality spectrum, Horseshoe Tunica extends its offerings through a fourteen-floor hotel tower comprising over 500 luxuriously appointed rooms. The Stewarding Supervisor role plays a critical part in maintaining the operational excellence of the casino's food and beverage (F&B) back of house (BOH) areas. This role is not only about overseeing cleanliness and maintenance but also about ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and operational efficiency are met consistently. The supervisor is tasked with standardizing procedures, maintaining quality, and continuously improving the stewardship of all BOH F&B areas to align with Caesars Entertainment's prestigious brand standards.

Working closely with the Stewarding Operations Manager, the Stewarding Supervisor directs a team of 15-20 hourly employees, ensuring that all sanitation and maintenance standards conform to state, local, and casino-specific regulations. The role requires a hands-on approach to managing staff, including hiring, training, motivating, and conducting performance evaluations. The supervisor also coordinates internal health inspections, monitors staffing and scheduling to meet fluctuating business needs, and enforces compliance with all industry and company policies.

A keen focus on safety, efficiency, and the use of advanced cleaning technologies is essential in this role. The Stewarding Supervisor must ensure that all dishwashing and pot washing areas meet stringent temperature and chemical solution requirements and address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime. This leadership position demands excellent communication skills, a passionate approach to operational optimization, and a commitment to fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the department.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role in a high-volume food service or food processing environment
  • Able to manage a team of 15-20 hourly employees
  • In-depth knowledge of latest cleaning and sanitation practices including chemicals
  • Passionate approach to streamline operational procedures and increase productivity of department
  • Excellent communication and administration skills
  • Ability to maintain and further develop the standards set by Caesars Entertainment
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance
  • Flexibility with working various shifts
  • Requires mobility and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to distinguish letters, symbols, and colors
  • Normal vision and hearing range
  • Operate in a working environment subject to varying levels of cold, heat, and noise

Job Duties

  • Oversee the cleanliness of all food and beverage related back of house areas
  • Monitor and evaluate staffing levels and hire, train and motivate staff to ensure adequate guidance and resources exist to accomplish established objectives
  • Develop highly skilled, successful employees, set realistic and measurable service standards and goals
  • Oversee and conduct inspections of back of house areas for cleanliness and maintenance of equipment
  • Supervise cleaning to meet requirements of the Mississippi State Health Department
  • Conduct internal health inspections in conjunction with Executive Chef and safety team
  • Prepare weekly work schedules and adjust to meet business demands
  • Continuously improve back of house related services by evaluating problems and feedback
