The role at hand involves supervising, coordinating, and monitoring the full spectrum of activities supporting patient and family room service, retail food operations, and catering services within the hospital’s nutrition department. This leadership position focuses on implementing and tracking innovative solutions that continuously improve quality, safety, delivery, cost-efficiency, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. The successful candidate will apply lean principles to daily operations and project work to drive breakthrough improvements and ensure collaboration with internal and external stakeholders throughout the nutrition value stream.

As a supervisor, the individual will manage nutrition staff assignments, ensure adequate staffing levels, and maintain regulatory and sanitation standards. This role also includes participation as a contributing member of the Nutrition supervisory team, helping to develop policies and procedures that uphold the high standards of Seattle Children’s. The position offers an annual salary range from $66,707 to $100,061, with compensation determined based on experience, skills, equity considerations, and expertise. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent or 4 years lead experience
  • Three years nutrition and/or food service experience including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
  • Washington State Food and Beverage Service Worker’s Permit

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent or 4 years of lead experience
  • Three years nutrition and/or food service experience including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
  • Washington State Food and Beverage Service Worker’s Permit
  • Hospital food service experience preferred
  • Bachelor level degree in Nutrition, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Business, or related field preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Experience in applying lean methodology preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise, coordinate, and monitor all standard work and activities supporting patient and family room service, retail business, and catering
  • Develop, implement, and track results of team’s innovative ideas and solutions to improve quality, safety, delivery, costs, customer service, and employee engagement
  • Apply lean principles to breakthrough and project work as well as daily operations
  • Assure collaborative problem solving and seamless communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervise Nutrition staff and assure adequate staffing
  • Maintain regulatory and sanitation standards
  • Participate as a member of the Nutrition supervisory team and contribute to policies and procedures development
