The Support Team Host/Busser position at the Oakway Pub in Eugene is an entry-level to intermediate role designed for energetic individuals who are passionate about customer service and interested in the craft beer industry. This role is crucial to ensuring a smooth and pleasant dining experience for every guest by providing upfront hospitality, assisting the serving staff, and maintaining cleanliness and order within the dining area. The Host/Busser acts as the first point of contact for guests entering the pub, greeting customers warmly and facilitating efficient seating arrangements to optimize service flow.

Key responsibilities include managing the front-of-house operations such as guiding guests to their tables while providing estimated wait times, distributing menus, and balancing table workloads to support the wait staff effectively. Job Duties

  • Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant
  • Guiding guests to their table
  • Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area
  • Providing customers with menus
  • Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for wait staff
  • Answering phones
  • Managing to-go orders
  • Prepares dining room for guests by cleaning tables
  • Protects the establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies
  • Maintains menu presentation by keeping menus clean, replacing damaged or soiled pages
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed
  • Cleans tables
  • Carry loads of soiled dishes to the dishwasher to be cleaned
  • Supports waitstaff by setting up and replenishing condiment stands and busser stations
  • Closes dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables, sweeping and vacuuming floors, and removing trash from the facility
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
  • All other duties as assigned
