Valley Hope of Moundridge is a dedicated treatment facility specializing in residential drug and alcohol addiction recovery, located in Moundridge, Kansas, just north of Wichita. The daily duties of the Support Staff Floater include performing maintenance tasks such as repairing building and plant equipment, plumbing, and carpentry, as well as carrying out scheduled maintenance to prevent disruptions. Furthermore, the position requires managing kitchen safety standards, including food handling and hygiene compliance, and assisting with meal preparation based on weekly menus and special dietary needs. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility is another key responsibility, encompassing a variety of cleaning and sanitizing tasks that meet prescribed sanitary standards. The role demands the use of various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment, highlighting the physical and technical nature of the job.
The work environment at Valley Hope requires flexibility to work non-typical hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with potential for overtime when necessary. Employees must be physically capable of extended standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and performing various motions required to operate kitchen equipment and carry out cleaning and maintenance. This position requires a valid and unrestricted driver's license and current CPR certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire. Job Duties
- Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain building, plant and equipment
- Provides emergency/unscheduled trouble shooting and repairs of building/plant equipment
- Performs scheduled maintenance and repairs on building/plant equipment
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
- Performs remodeling/maintenance of patient rooms, office space and common areas as directed
- Uses and maintains a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Ensures safe food handling protocol is maintained including hand hygiene compliance, cross contamination prevention, and temperature checks
- Prepares/supports preparation of daily meals according to menus/recipes or supervisor instructions
- Maintains all assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition
- Performs cleaning/sanitizing tasks as outlined on cleaning schedules including wash, dust, polish, vacuum, and sweep
- Cleans and sanitizes sinks, tubs, showers and toilets
- Cleans and sanitizes office and common areas including public and private restrooms and patient laundry areas
- Cleans, sanitizes and maintains all flooring according to facility schedules which may include tiled, carpeted, polished concrete, and wood flooring types
