Job Description
Tenderloin Housing Clinic (THC) is a dedicated nonprofit organization located in San Francisco that manages 24 Single Room Occupancy residential hotels across the Tenderloin, Mission, and SOMA neighborhoods. These hotels provide supportive housing to formerly homeless adults, offering a stable and secure environment as a foundation for improved quality of life. Tenderloin Housing Clinic follows a successful "Housing First" model, emphasizing that housing is the critical first step toward recovery and wellness for individuals facing homelessness and other challenges. The organization is deeply committed to providing compassionate support services that help tenants maintain their housing, access vital resources, and engage meaningfully with their communities.
The role of Support Services Manager at THC is pivotal to the success of the organization's mission. As a Support Services Manager, you will lead a team of approximately six Case Managers responsible for serving the needs of around 210 tenants (given an average caseload of 35 tenants per Case Manager). You will oversee one or more sites, directly supervising case management staff and ensuring that tenants receive comprehensive support that addresses their dual diagnoses and complex needs. This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting at $71,770 annually along with a robust benefits package.
Support Services Managers at THC are integral to delivering a broad spectrum of services including intake and assessment, benefits advocacy, community referrals, mediation with property management, conflict resolution, and the facilitation of support groups, social events, and wellness checks. The role requires strong leadership skills, compassion, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving in order to effectively guide the team and support tenants in maintaining their housing stability. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about social justice, equity, and making a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable populations.
Working at Tenderloin Housing Clinic means being part of a mission-driven team that values collaboration, respect, and innovation in addressing homelessness. The organization deeply values diversity and includes people with criminal records in its hiring priorities, recognizing the importance of second chances and inclusive employment practices. Employees benefit from comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for themselves and eligible family members, life insurance, long-term disability coverage, and retirement planning through a 403b plan. In addition, generous paid time off, sick days, paid holidays, floating holidays, and parental leave support work-life balance and employee wellbeing.
This in-person role based in downtown San Francisco offers meaningful work in an environment where compassionate leadership has a direct positive impact on vulnerable communities. If you are an experienced leader ready to drive meaningful change and uphold the values of dignity and empowerment for formerly homeless adults, the Support Services Manager position at Tenderloin Housing Clinic presents an outstanding opportunity.
