The role of a Store Team Leader at Five Below is integral to maintaining the company’s commitment to outstanding customer service and smooth store operations. The position is hourly with a starting wage of $15.65, emphasizing both leadership and hands-on involvement on the sales floor. A Store Team Leader acts as a key support to the Store Manager by overseeing daily store activities, managing staff, and ensuring that every customer interaction adheres to the B.E.S.T. customer service experience. This role requires a high level of energy, communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment. The Store Team Leader contributes to driving sales by optimizing merchandising, coaching team members, and maintaining visual merchandising standards and store cleanliness. They also handle tasks such as receiving and organizing new stock, managing cash and store security during opening and closing shifts, and acting as Manager on Duty when necessary to address urgent issues and uphold store operations. This multifaceted position demands leadership qualities with a hands-on approach, as well as flexibility to work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts or travel. Job Duties
- ensure all crew members are wowing the customer through personal contact with customers
- train the crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience
- help oversee the daily activities of all store associates
- assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock
- act as manager on duty when needed
- manage the entire process of opening or closing the store
- support onboarding and ongoing training of associates
- drive store sales and control expenses
- partner with store leadership in merchandising procedures and World Recovery
- perform store maintenance such as taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining stock room
