The Supplier Excellence Engineer plays a critical role within Kenvue, reporting directly to the Director of Global Packaging Operations and Supplier Excellence. This position is based in Summit, New Jersey, within a hybrid work environment that supports both remote and onsite collaboration. The role focuses on ensuring that Kenvue’s packaging suppliers achieve outstanding levels of quality, technical expertise, and overall performance that align with the company's rigorous standards. This position partners closely with various cross-functional teams including Procurement, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) teams to drive excellence in supplier operations.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing supplier performance metrics and scorecards, conducting comprehensive supplier audits and technical assessments, and managing external resources for in-depth evaluations. The Supplier Excellence Engineer supports supplier selection and onboarding processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective packaging materials and services which advance Kenvue’s sustainability and innovation goals. They help coordinate joint business planning and sourcing strategies with procurement to foster strategic partnerships that leverage supplier expertise in packaging components, materials, and technologies.

A fundamental aspect of the role is driving continuous improvement by unlocking value and agility through certification programs that enhance supplier package testing capabilities. The engineer also plays an essential part in maintaining strong relationships with regional and global suppliers, ensuring regular evaluations and improvement plans are in place. Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices is vital to uphold Kenvue’s leadership in packaging excellence.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Plastics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field, along with at least four years of experience in plastics molding supplier quality management or a related discipline. Candidates should possess expert knowledge of scientific plastics molding techniques including injection, extrusion blow molding (EBM), injection stretch blow molding (ISBM), and thermoforming, as well as glass forming. Skills in molding design of experiments (DOE), troubleshooting, packaging quality standards, and root cause analysis for plastic molding issues are necessary. Experience in the personal care industry is preferred. Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive independently and collaboratively within a global team are essential. The role also requires readiness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Kenvue offers a competitive annual base salary for this role, ranging from $90,100 to $127,200, depending on factors such as skills, experience, education, and location.
