Job Description
The organization hiring for this Service/Maintenance position is based in Norman and specializes in food services, particularly within a high-volume kitchen and university campus setting. The role offered is a closing supervisor position that operates Sunday through Thursday, targeting a salary of up to $17 per hour based on education and experience. This employment opportunity includes eligibility for benefits and may require travel occasionally. The core responsibility revolves around supervising, training, and evaluating assigned personnel while managing the operational priorities and schedules within the food services environment. This supervisor will actively participate in the service team by performing diverse roles such as beverage preparation, operating cash registers, and interacting with guests to ensure a superior dining experience. Upholding best practices among employees is a critical function, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, effective portion control, and quality service delivery.
This supervisory role requires balancing administrative duties and hands-on cooking, cleaning, and serving responsibilities. The supervisor prepares food by following standardized recipes with precise portion control and uses various kitchen appliances and industrial equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and dishwashers. The role demands a courteous and respectful approach to serving food along with knowledge of menu items to assist customers effectively. Additionally, responsibilities extend to transporting hot or cold food items to customers or designated areas, sanitizing kitchen utensils and workspaces, and maintaining cleanliness of the environment in accordance with established kitchen standards. This position also supports special university events, such as Presidential luncheons and catering for student organizations, highlighting its dynamic and multifaceted nature. The supervisor is expected to collaborate with other food service staff and be flexible in assisting where needed, including during inclement weather or campus closures. Wearing and maintaining an assigned uniform is mandatory. Overall, the role is vital to maintaining the smooth operation of food services within a busy institutional setting while promoting a safe, efficient, and pleasant atmosphere for both staff and guests.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or graduate of culinary school
- 36 months experience in food services with at least 12 months supervisory experience
- ServSafe Certification
- Sanitation Certification may be required upon employment
- Ability to work Sunday through Thursday closing shifts
- Must be able to wear and maintain uniform per shift
- May be required to travel
- Background check clearance
- Cleveland County Food Handlers card within 30 days of hire
- Hepatitis A vaccine or annual testing
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or graduate of culinary school
- Minimum 36 months experience in food services including 12 months in a supervisory role
- ServSafe Certification
- Previous experience cooking in a large-volume kitchen
- Experience working directly with college students
- Ability to work during inclement weather or campus closures
- Cleveland County Food Handlers card required within 30 days of hire
- Hepatitis A vaccine or annual testing
