The Transportation Supervisor role is pivotal in maintaining McLane’s reputation for excellence in logistics and distribution. This role involves direct supervision of assigned Drivers to ensure safe, timely, and accurate deliveries leveraging multi-stop routing systems and dispatch procedures. The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for monitoring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements by reviewing driver logs and hours of service, coordinating activities across departments within the distribution center, and executing special projects as required by leadership. This supervisory position demands a thorough knowledge of state, local, and federal regulations as well as proficiency with routing software and Microsoft Office applications.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000 annually and eligibility for an annual incentive plan with a target bonus of 10% of base salary. Job Requirements

  • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Have at least 1 year of transportation management experience in the food distribution industry
  • Be knowledgeable about DOT regulations
  • Be able to work a varied and flexible schedule
  • Have basic competency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely

Job Qualifications

  • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Have at least 1 year of transportation management experience in the food distribution industry
  • Be knowledgeable about DOT regulations
  • AS/400 experience is preferred
  • Truck routing software experience preferred
  • Be able to work a varied and flexible schedule
  • Have basic competency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely

Job Duties

  • Achieve safe, timely, and accurate deliveries to customers via a thorough working knowledge of multi-stop routing systems and dispatch procedures
  • Review driver logs, hours of service, and other DOT requirements to ensure compliance with all state, local and federal regulations
  • Coordinate activities with other distribution center departments to ensure that accurate and timely deliveries occur
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned at the position supervisor's discretion
