The role of Supervisor, Steward, under the direction of the Assistant Executive Steward, is a critical leadership position within the Stewarding department of the casino and resort. This supervisory role involves managing, training, and assisting team members who are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in all culinary and food and beverage work areas. The supervisor ensures that all department operations comply with health department regulations and enterprise standards, fostering a culture that aligns with the resort's vision, mission, and values.
This position entails overseeing the work of Lead Stewards, Utility Clerks, and Inventory Control Staff, organizing work processes, enforcing health and safety guidelines, and supporting the daily administrative functions of the department. The supervisor plans and updates cleaning schedules and is instrumental in maintaining high-quality service standards. Additionally, the role requires implementing ongoing training programs focused on dishwashing, maintenance, sanitation, and safety procedures, as well as ensuring proper use of chemicals and equipment as per Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
The Supervisor, Steward also plays a key role in managing inventory levels, controlling departmental costs related to labor and expenses, and maintaining areas such as refuse zones and all back-of-house spaces to a strict cleanliness standard. Safety is paramount, and the supervisor must identify and address hazards, enforcing compliance with safety protocols. This role demands excellent judgment, strong communication skills, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to both guests and team members.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years experience in food and beverage storeroom, stewarding, or management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Knowledge of safe and sanitary cleaning procedures
- Understanding of union labor law and contracts
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement daily assignments
- Good judgment skills
- Ability to manage and train staff
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to perform basic math operations
- Ability to provide friendly and efficient service
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Obtain and maintain a gaming license if required
- Obtain and maintain a food handler's card
- Obtain and maintain ServSafe certification
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record if authorized driver
