The supervisor plays a critical role in managing the decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and packaging of all reusable medical and surgical linens, instruments, and equipment, thus supporting surgical teams and other medical departments in providing safe and sterile supplies necessary for quality patient care.

The Supervisor also manages inventory with the aid of a Materials Management Inventory System, tracks equipment repair schedules, oversees performance improvement documentation, and leads continuous education efforts to maintain staff certification and competency.

In addition, the Supervisor will serve as the administrator of the Sterile Processing Materials (SPM) instrument tracking system, demonstrating proficiency in database management and reporting to senior Distribution and Materials Management leadership. Personnel management duties include approving schedules, monitoring employee performance, coaching, conducting evaluations, handling disciplinary actions, and potentially participating in hiring and salary recommendations. Financial stewardship and operational efficiency are also key responsibilities, requiring the Supervisor to implement resource optimization strategies and contribute to budget planning. This role is ideal for a proactive healthcare professional with a background in sterile processing or surgical technology who thrives in a leadership position within a pediatric healthcare setting, committed to upholding safety, quality, and excellence in patient care.
