Iron Mountain's Data Centers segment operates a global colocation platform encompassing 19 locations across three continents. These centers support customers by enabling the creation of tailored, sustainable, carrier- and cloud-neutral data solutions, ranging from single cabinets to wholesale data centers. Iron Mountain leads the industry in green energy initiatives, powering its data centers with 100 percent renewable energy supported by carbon credit assistance and maintaining low Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). The Supervisor, Safety & Security, position at Iron Mountain is a critical role within the Data Center division. This role involves managing the development and execution of a comprehensive security and life safety program specifically tailored for an assigned Data Center. The Supervisor is responsible for mitigating risks related to personnel, company and customer information, physical assets, and the Iron Mountain brand. This includes daily management of the security program to ensure alignment with both the Iron Mountain Data Center (IMDC) and corporate policies and standards. The Supervisor will recruit, organize, and lead a team of on-site security personnel, overseeing their training and performance to uphold rigorous security standards.

In addition to leading the security team, the Supervisor will be deeply involved in incident response and investigating security events in collaboration with Iron Mountain Global Safety, Risk and Security (GSRS) management. This role requires coordination with various functional teams and external emergency responders to maintain a secure and safe operating environment. The Supervisor will also manage emergency response initiatives, evacuation planning, and drills, and is responsible for ensuring safety training and certifications, such as First Aid, CPR, and AED, are current. The role demands strong leadership, communication, and administrative skills, computer proficiency for managing data and reporting, and the ability to obtain or hold a U.S. Government SC/TS security clearance. Candidates must be U.S. citizens to meet customer contracting requirements.

Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Experience with computers, able to create and manipulate spreadsheet and database information
  • Excellent interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills
  • Strong leadership traits
  • Ability to obtain or hold U.S. Government SC/TS security clearance

Job Duties

  • Manage physical security operations, access control, CCTV, and other physical security systems for assigned Iron Mountain Data Center
  • Provide support for the Iron Mountain business unit to ensure safety and security of personnel, clients, visitors, vendors, property, and assets of the company
  • Manage a team of Officers, Safety & Security (armed and unarmed), responsible for daily operations and security standards on site 24/7
  • Provide the training for the Security Team and monitor the development and implementation
  • Conduct incident response and investigations for assigned Data Center location in coordination with Iron Mountain Global Safety, Risk and Security (GSRS) management
  • Act as GSRS liaison on site to assist where needed in coordinating cross functional efforts with other Iron Mountain personnel
  • Provide thorough analysis of security risks and development of appropriate mitigating strategies
  • Collaborate with the onsite IMDC management team on Safety and Business Continuity programs, procedures and protocols
  • Coordinate Emergency Response and related evacuation planning and drills
  • Develop strong liaison and coordinate with emergency first responders (police / fire) as needed
  • Manage safety, First Aid/CPR/AED training and response
  • Follow up with Officer's DCJS registrations and make sure they are up to date
  • Coordinate the site Emergency Action Plan, Fire Protection Plan, and Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Must be able to run projects and other assigned duties as needed
