Job Description

CHRISTUS Health is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare services across a wide range of specialties and communities. As a leading healthcare provider, CHRISTUS Health operates numerous hospitals, clinics, and ancillary service facilities throughout the United States and Latin America, committed to enhancing the health and well-being of the individuals and families they serve. Through a focus on innovative patient care, community engagement, and continuous improvement, CHRISTUS Health fosters an environment where clinical excellence and compassionate care go hand in hand to meet the evolving needs of their diverse patient populations.

The role of RN Supervisor at CHRISTUS Health is a pivotal leadership position within the nursing department. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective nursing care in a safe and efficient manner. The RN Supervisor works closely with the Director and other hospital leadership to analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing programs and processes that strengthen and integrate nursing services within the healthcare system. This role plays an integral part in the development and execution of strategic business plans related to the nursing service lines, continually aiming to improve operational, financial, and clinical outcomes.

The RN Supervisor assumes primary accountability for the effective supervision of nursing activities in assigned units, ensuring that patient care is coordinated and meets the highest quality standards. This includes managing both human and financial resources to maintain productivity while enhancing patient and staff satisfaction. The role requires close collaboration with clinical teams and ancillary departments to align on quality and safety measures, patient outcomes, and overall service excellence goals. Supervisory responsibilities encompass providing direction and support to nursing teams, identifying training needs, fostering professional development, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with organizational policies.

This full-time position offers multiple shift options to accommodate the needs of the organization and staff. Candidates should be prepared for relocation as required to serve the community best. Additionally, the RN Supervisor must hold current RN licensure in the state of employment or be eligible under the nursing license compact. Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS), and candidates with previous supervisory or healthcare management experience are preferred. Educationally, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred to meet the increasing complexity of healthcare leadership demands.

Through an emphasis on leadership competencies such as Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders within the OneCHRISTUS framework, the RN Supervisor will play a key role in advancing the mission and vision of CHRISTUS Health by providing exemplary nursing leadership. The role emphasizes accountability, ethical practice, and the integration of clinical expertise with compassionate patient care to improve community health outcomes and patient satisfaction consistently. If you are an experienced nurse leader seeking to make a meaningful impact within a compassionate healthcare organization, this role offers a dynamic opportunity for growth and professional fulfillment.
