The role of Supervisor Operations - Transportation is based on-site at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and offers a salary range of $56,949.36 to $71,186.70. This pivotal leadership position is integral to the daily operations of SkyChefs' expanding transportation team in the Dallas area. The Transportation Supervisor directly oversees a team of more than 20 members responsible for ensuring that airline flights receive the correct product deliveries on schedule. Operating within a demanding 24/7 environment, this role demands a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational reliability.
The Transportation Supervisor’s responsibilities involve managing daily routes, driver schedules, and ensuring adherence to stringent safety and regulatory standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in transportation or logistics supervision
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards
- Experience with routing software and transportation management systems
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work evening and overnight shifts
- CDL license or experience managing CDL drivers
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in transportation or logistics supervision
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards
- Experience with routing software and transportation management systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to operational needs
- CDL license or experience managing CDL drivers
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles a plus
Job Duties
- Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed and that all delivery times are being met timely
- Conduct daily work group meetings
- Schedule and control staff to meet labour productivity and overtime targets
- Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies standards such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP
- Document and follow up on all department processes in order to implement improvements
- Ensure on-time and accurate production and/or catering of all flights
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
