Job Description

LSG Sky Chefs is one of the world’s largest airline catering and hospitality providers, renowned for its outstanding reputation and dynamic approach in the industry. Voted “Airline Caterer of the Year in North America” for 2023 and 2024, the company is committed to excellence and innovation. This commitment is driven by the dedication and expertise of its talented employees. LSG Sky Chefs' team members are central to its success, consistently delivering exceptional culinary experiences and outstanding service to clients and passengers across North and Latin America. The company maintains a leadership position in airline catering by focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Miami, USA. The role of Supervisor Operations - Transportation is designed for an outgoing, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced airside production environment. The supervisor will manage transportation teams responsible for the safe and timely delivery of catering to aircraft. This essential role involves overseeing dispatch, drivers, and fleet readiness; ensuring accurate and secure loading of equipment; and partnering closely with Production and Airline Operations to meet flight schedules.

The Supervisor Operations - Transportation plays a critical role in upholding safety, compliance, and performance standards. This includes adhering to regulations from DOT/FMCSA, airport security (SIDA/TSA), and food safety protocols such as HACCP and GMP. Daily responsibilities include organizing staffing across shifts to meet delivery timelines, leading shift briefings focused on dispatch planning, safety, and gate changes, and ensuring fleet vehicles undergo regular inspections and preventive maintenance. The leader will also verify load accuracy, maintain temperature control logs, and enforce cold-chain integrity during loading.

Ensuring safety in airside operations through proper marshalling, vehicle positioning, and compliance with airport driving rules is key. Meeting on-time service targets by monitoring flight service milestones and adjusting operations is another critical aspect. The supervisor is responsible for controlling labor productivity and overtime, documentary accuracy, and continual process improvement to close gaps identified in audits or incident reviews. Leadership responsibilities include guiding, motivating, and developing transportation staff, instilling company values, managing productivity and costs, and participating in quality and safety initiatives designed to improve operational reliability.

Cross-functional coordination is essential, requiring close collaboration with Production, Warehouse, Flight Assembly, QA, Maintenance, Airline Operation Control Centers, and Customer Service to maintain service levels, especially during irregular operations or unforeseen changes. The successful candidate will have experience in transportation or logistics, preferably within food service distribution or airline catering, strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and airport security protocols. This role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment, and familiarity with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems. Preferred qualifications include an airfield driving permit, CDL-B license or supervisory experience, union environment experience, and bilingual capabilities. The work environment requires physical stamina and the ability to comply with airport security and badging requirements.

Joining LSG Sky Chefs as a Supervisor Operations - Transportation offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the aviation catering industry’s operational success, while enjoying a supportive workplace that values innovation, safety, and teamwork.
