Job Description

City of Hope is a leading comprehensive cancer center and research institution renowned for its mission to deliver pioneering cures and treatments for cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening diseases. Founded with a commitment to compassionate care and groundbreaking research, City of Hope has grown into a national network that includes its flagship Los Angeles campus, numerous clinical care sites across Southern California, a newly established cancer center in Orange County, and additional treatment facilities in Atlanta, Chicago, and Phoenix. This extensive network allows City of Hope to serve a diverse patient population, providing cutting-edge medical services complemented by a collaborative and patient-focused culture. The organization prides itself on fostering an environment where innovation, empathy, and excellence come together to improve patient outcomes and advance medical knowledge.

City of Hope is looking for a Food Service Supervisor to join their dedicated team. This role is critical as it supports the daily food service operations within various food preparation and service locations across City of Hope premises. The supervisor will be directly involved in managing food service staff, ensuring adherence to established policies, and helping maintain high standards of quality and service that reflect the institution's reputation for excellence in the healthcare sector. The position, which typically operates under the direction of management, involves overseeing daily workflows, coordinating tasks among approximately 10 team members, and supporting payroll management and staffing functions. Strong technology skills and previous leadership experience, particularly in healthcare or hospital food service settings, will enable the successful candidate to effectively manage operational demands while fostering a positive workplace culture.

The Food Service Supervisor will play a pivotal role in monitoring employee productivity, maintaining operational controls such as opening and closing procedures, and ensuring that food safety, allergy, and hygiene standards are rigorously upheld. By acting as a working lead supervisor, this individual will directly engage with both staff and customers to resolve issues promptly and maintain satisfaction levels. In addition to managing routine assignments, the supervisor will facilitate employee training and orientation programs, promoting continued development of the food services team. They will also participate in various training programs focused on safety, risk management, and infection control, demonstrating adherence to corporate policies and regulatory standards. This comprehensive approach ensures that City of Hope's food service operations contribute to the overall mission of delivering exceptional care while maintaining a safe and efficient environment for both employees and patients.

Candidates should expect a rewarding opportunity to contribute their skills and leadership in a setting that values integrity, accountability, and collaboration. City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer that offers competitive compensation based on experience, qualifications, and location. The position is designed for candidates who are passionate about making a difference in healthcare support services and eager to grow professionally within a respected and innovative institution.
