Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
- Minimum of 2 years of directly related work experience for Supervisor level or 4 years plus 2 years experience for Senior Supervisor
- Ability to manage and lead maintenance personnel
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with budgeting and contract negotiation
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work full time Monday through Friday between 6:00am and 4:00pm
- Willingness to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and manage vendor relationships
- Capability to conduct inspections and maintain facility standards
- Proficient in managing payroll and staff scheduling
- Experience with building automation and CMMS preferred
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in facilities management or related field
- Proven experience in facilities management including supervision, budgeting, and project management
- Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance including custodial and landscaping practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Experience with building automation systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred
- Knowledge of relevant codes and regulations
Job Duties
- Hire and train maintenance personnel including conducting performance appraisals and disciplinary actions
- Manage payroll and absence for maintenance staff
- Create and manage shift assignment sheets
- Oversee staff schedules including on call and overtime
- Manage proper use, maintenance, and safety of equipment
- Collaborate with university departments, project managers and contractors on maintenance and construction projects
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure facility standards are met
- Meet regularly with customers to ensure maintenance needs are addressed
- Act as point of contact for building managers resolving maintenance related issues
- Develop and manage long term maintenance contracts
- Maintain vendor relationships providing feedback to enhance performance
- Ensure contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards
- Maintain accurate and updated contract databases
- Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance of visible building assets
- Develop and implement maintenance plans
- Manage budgets for building maintenance including labor, materials, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and policies
- Provide training and proper guidance to staff
- Assist and fill in for peers as needed
