The Supervisor Environmental Services position is a full-time role working evening shifts, responsible for supervising the Environmental Services staff on campus and ensuring that all cleaning and sanitation duties meet or exceed organizational standards. Reporting directly to the Manager of Environmental Services, this role oversees the quality and timeliness of cleaning services while fostering a positive, cooperative work environment. The supervisor not only manages daily operational tasks such as scheduling, timecard approval, and supply ordering but also plays a critical role in training, coaching, and evaluating staff performance. As a primary backup to the Environmental Services Manager, the supervisor is proficient in guiding personnel through compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures, continuously improving service delivery through Quality Improvement initiatives. This position requires dedication to maintaining a safe hospital environment, promoting excellent customer service, and embodying the core values and vision of St. Charles Health System. The pay range for this role is $27.74 to $41.61 per hour, reflecting the importance and expertise required for this supervisory position. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum one year related experience
- previous leadership experience
- ability to travel to all St. Charles Health System worksites
- ability to wear required personal protective equipment
- willingness to work second shift hours
- proficiency in safety and sanitation standards
- ability to stand and walk extensively during shifts
- capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and kneeling
- compliance with infection control and safety protocols

Job Duties
- Monitor staff during shifts to ensure guidelines and standards are met
- inspect cleanliness and make necessary corrections
- prepare and manage work schedules
- review and approve staff timecards
- train and mentor new hires and existing staff
- assist in hiring, coaching, and performance management
- issue corrective actions as needed
- conduct regular performance reviews
- maintain safety and compliance monitoring
- implement safety directives
- provide and oversee customer service delivery
- order supplies and maintain inventory
- maintain knowledge of cleaning processes and infection control
- participate in quality improvement activities
