The Domestic Forwarding Supervisor role at Watchpoint Logistics is a hybrid position based in Burlingame, CA, requiring reliable commuting to the office three days a week. The starting pay for this supervisory role ranges from $38 to $42 per hour, depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and location. This position is crucial in overseeing the daily activities of a dedicated group of employees responsible for load planning, assigning carriers to shipments, ensuring the accuracy of shipment information, tracking and tracing freight, and resolving any issues that arise. The Supervisor works closely with management to develop the team, supervise processes, and meet or exceed both team member and customer expectations.

In this role, the Domestic Forwarding Supervisor takes ownership of customer standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensures their consistent execution. The Supervisor monitors service failures using the Salesforce Incident Management tool and develops or contributes to corrective actions as required. Providing prompt and accurate information to the team is essential to help meet or exceed customer expectations. The Supervisor fosters positive change within the team to support the achievement of the company’s key objectives and business goals in a dynamic marketplace.

The position also involves ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws by approving team member time cards, managing time-off scheduling, and assigning appropriate breaks. The Supervisor continuously monitors workload allocation and the quality of work, leveraging the Transportation Management System (TMS) to ensure accurate freight movements and load information. Partnering with the department manager, the Supervisor documents employee contributions and helps with annual performance evaluations, staying current with industry trends and market drivers related to modes, products, and services. Supervising the coordination and routing processes of customer shipments, the Supervisor plays a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of operational excellence and customer satisfaction at Watchpoint Logistics.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3 years of experience in domestic Freight Forwarder or 3PL role with 1 year of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity
  • proficient use of computer systems and applications (e.g., MS Office, TMS) as trained/required
  • able to deliver quality results consistently and on schedule
  • self-motivated and follows through on team initiatives with management support

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Takes ownership of customer standard operating procedure (SOP) and ensures execution
