The role of Catering Supervisor at Guest Services, Inc. is a pivotal one that directly impacts guest satisfaction and the smooth execution of catered events. This position is responsible for overseeing the Catering Attendants, ensuring that all functions—from setup to breakdown and service—are executed flawlessly. As the first point of contact for clients and customers, the Catering Supervisor must maintain professionalism and urgency while managing any concerns, guaranteeing a superior customer experience. The ideal candidate will be adept at leading a team, handling customer interactions with diplomacy, and maintaining strict safety and sanitation standards.

In this role, you will monitor the setup and maintenance of function rooms, guide and train catering staff, and ensure a safe and hygienic environment compliant with operational guidelines. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic setting. Physical stamina is crucial, as the job involves standing for extended periods, lifting significant weight, and navigating through various temperature environments from freezers to grills.

The Catering Supervisor works closely under the direction of the Catering Manager, playing an integral role in staff scheduling, recruitment, and performance evaluation. Your leadership will directly influence the team’s efficiency and development, helping to foster a motivated and customer-focused workplace.

This is an hourly position offering a compensation rate of $16.00 per hour, providing an excellent entry or advancement opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality management and guest relations. Job Duties

  • Ensure complete guest satisfaction at all times
  • handle guests' complaints and solve them according to customer service standards
  • monitor and supervise Catering Attendants and their tasks, including set up and maintenance of function room areas
  • assist in recruiting, supervising, scheduling, disciplining, reviewing, and directing the catering staff at the direction of the Catering Manager
  • train hourly staff for peak performance and monitor staff's development
  • maintain and ensure safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of unit's equipment, food production and handling, cooking, housekeeping, sanitation, dress, cash control, and employee hygiene
  • notify Catering Manager of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues
  • maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager
