The Supervisor for Adult Day Services position in Gardena offers a rewarding full-time opportunity Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a competitive starting pay rate of $26.00 per hour. This role is pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Adult Day Services program, ensuring that services are delivered in a person-centered and high-quality manner. The Supervisor is responsible for managing staff, coordinating service delivery, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations. They play a key role in training and evaluating associates within the program, fostering a positive work culture, and supporting participants in leading fulfilling, empowered lives. This position also includes the benefit of CPR and First Aid certification provided by Easterseals Southern California. A reliable vehicle and clean driving record are required due to travel expectations within Southern California. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
  • 4 years of work experience in related field preferred, including supervisory experience
  • Possess and maintain valid CPR and First Aid Certifications
  • Possess and maintain non-violent crisis management/intervention certifications
  • Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance
  • Ability to pass post-offer medical examination and tuberculosis test
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods
  • Ability to push wheelchairs on various terrain
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Must pass all drug testing required by Easterseals Southern California
  • Ability to travel throughout Southern California
  • Provide proof of valid California driver’s license, auto insurance, and vehicle registration

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
  • Possess and maintain valid CPR and First Aid Certifications
  • Possess and maintain non-violent crisis management/intervention certifications such as CPI or QBS
  • 4 years of work experience in related field preferred, including some supervisory experience
  • Combination of experience, education, and training to perform the job successfully
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of person-centered programming approach
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and discretion
  • Ability to develop associates and apply progressive discipline
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Empathy and patience in communicating with service users and families
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health records
  • Ability to provide personal care and transfer individuals without weight-bearing skills
  • Conflict resolution skills and ability to remain calm under stress
  • Ability to foster positive morale, creativity, and teamwork
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, stoop, stand, kneel, push wheelchairs, and tolerate outdoor conditions
  • Ability to travel locally with reliable transportation
  • Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass required drug testing

Job Duties

  • Supervises the coordination of service delivery for individuals including intake process, assessments, service assignment, and effective service delivery
  • Facilitates or conducts associated meetings
  • Oversees and coordinates data collection, organization, and storage of documentation, including electronic health records
  • Promotes, models, and ensures adherence with person-centered standards and service culture
  • Ensures compliance with quality assurance and safety standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
  • Evaluates training needs and conducts observations of associates, providing constructive feedback
  • Maintains positive relationships with associates, individuals served, support teams, referral agencies, and community contacts
  • Substitutes for direct service associates as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
