The Janitorial Supervisor role at ABM is a full-time position located in a large, multi-level facility at 400 West Market St., Louisville, KY 40202. The position offers competitive pay at $26 per hour and requires working the shift from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility in scheduling. This role involves overseeing the cleaning operations across a 35-story facility and managing teams across multiple floors. The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and ensuring that all areas are properly serviced and maintained according to company standards. This supervisory role requires a professional leader with strong accountability to manage approximately 20 night shift employees and additional day porters, who must be trained, coached, and supported regularly.

The position demands strong leadership skills to conduct routine walkthroughs with the Assistant Supervisor, complete administrative tasks including payroll and scheduling, and handle employee performance issues through coaching and counseling. The supervisor will also conduct inspections, address quality issues, and ensure compliance with all safety protocols regarding cleaning equipment and chemical use. The ability to communicate effectively with staff, management, and client stakeholders is essential to this position, as is the willingness to step in and assist with cleaning tasks when necessary. Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-rise facility, walking multiple floors regularly, and maintaining professionalism and clear boundaries while managing the janitorial staff. Job Duties

  • supervise and coordinate the work of janitorial staff across a 35-story facility ensuring all areas are cleaned and maintained to company standards
  • split assigned floors with assistant supervisor and conduct routine walkthroughs to ensure completion and quality of work
  • manage and support two teams approximately 20 night shift employees and additional day porters when applicable
  • train onboard and coach employees to maintain strong performance and accountability
  • address performance concerns provide counseling and lead professional constructive conversations when needed
  • complete payroll scheduling and basic administrative functions accurately and on time
  • conduct inspections and follow up on any missed tasks or quality issues
