Job Description
ABM (NYSE: ABM) is a globally recognized leader in facility services and solutions, dedicated to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments. Established in 1909, ABM has grown into one of the world’s largest providers in the industry, delivering comprehensive services that include janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical, landscape and turf, and mission critical solutions. Serving a diverse range of industries such as commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, entertainment venues, and more, ABM operates across 350+ offices throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations. With over 100,000 team members and annual revenues approaching $8 billion, ABM is dedicated to delivering forward-looking performance solutions that improve the spaces and places that matter most.
The Janitorial Supervisor role at ABM is a full-time position based in Louisville, KY, located at 4000 West Market St. This role offers competitive pay at $55.00 per hour, reflecting the value ABM places on experienced leadership in the janitorial sector. The work shift is from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility to accommodate operational needs. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate cleaning operations within a large, multi-level 35-story facility. You will be responsible for managing teams across multiple floors, ensuring all cleaning standards meet ABM’s high-quality benchmarks. Leadership and accountability are critical elements of this position, as you will supervise approximately 20 night shift employees along with additional day porters as applicable.
Your responsibilities include conducting routine walkthroughs alongside the Assistant Supervisor to assess completion and quality of work, training and coaching staff to maintain strong performance standards, and addressing performance issues through counseling and professional conversations. Additionally, you will handle payroll, scheduling, and other administrative functions accurately and on time. Maintaining effective communication with staff, management, and client stakeholders is crucial for the smooth operation of the cleaning teams. You will also ensure compliance with all safety protocols and the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. At times, you may need to step in to assist with hands-on cleaning tasks, demonstrating leadership by example.
ABM values professionalism, accountability, and strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a high-rise building environment, walking regularly throughout the facility and working safely at heights. You should bring prior experience in supervisory or leadership roles within janitorial or facilities management. Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and administrative, are essential, as is the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Working at ABM means joining a company committed to equal opportunity employment, supporting veterans and individuals with disabilities, and participating in programs such as E-Verify for employment eligibility verification. ABM also offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and career growth of its team members. Overall, this opportunity is well suited for professionals seeking to advance their career in the janitorial and facility services industry within a respected, global company that values leadership and quality service.
