Job Description
Our client is a rapidly growing and highly respected commercial construction firm with a strong foothold in the Mid-Atlantic region, including Baltimore, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and surrounding areas. The company specializes in delivering complex renovation, fit-out, and adaptive reuse projects within challenging urban environments, boasting a collaborative culture and a reputation for high-quality execution and customer satisfaction. With a robust pipeline of repeat business, the firm has earned the trust of a diverse client base through its commitment to excellence and reliability, completing over 50 projects annually. The organization is known for its adaptability and focus on meeting the unique demands of the hospitality sector, particularly in restaurant and hotel renovations.
The role on offer is a permanent, full-time Superintendentship based in Washington, D.C., with a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 per year. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with at least five years of superintendent experience in commercial construction, particularly those with a background in restaurant interiors, hospitality, tenant improvements, or commercial fit-out projects. The Superintendent will lead day-to-day field operations, manage and coordinate craft labor, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects proceed according to schedule and specifications, and maintain rigorous safety and quality standards on site.
Key responsibilities include developing and updating project schedules, monitoring budgets and construction costs, and fostering strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and trade partners. This role is hands-on, requiring the ability to lead by example in the field and assist with tasks when necessary to meet project timelines and client expectations. Additional perks of the role include a company truck and gas card, supporting ease of travel between project sites. The successful candidate will be joining a company that values safety, professionalism, and teamwork, with a supportive work environment that respects diversity and inclusion. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional seeking to take a leadership role within a reputable firm that offers career growth and involvement in a diverse portfolio of commercial projects.
