The company prides itself on fostering a collaborative environment where innovation meets dedication, enabling teams to work together to build some of the most significant infrastructure and concrete projects in the industry. Known for its safety culture, operational excellence, and client-focused approach, Baker Construction continually raises the bar in construction standards and practices.
The role of the Area Superintendent at Baker Construction is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the profitable and efficient installation of project work within a specified geographic area. This position involves directing co-workers, coordinating and interacting with other trades to ensure seamless execution of work, and managing all aspects of construction operations within assigned projects. The Area Superintendent is entrusted with maintaining a strong SQP (Safety, Quality, Productivity) culture on-site, emphasizing not only the completion of projects on time and within budget but also the safety and well-being of all team members.
As an Area Superintendent, you will be exposed to challenging projects ranging from large-scale initiatives to small and medium-sized tasks, where your leadership will directly impact successful project delivery. This role requires a hands-on, proactive approach to planning, scheduling, cost management, and productivity optimization. You will play a critical role in nurturing client relationships, ensuring not only the quality of work performed but also client satisfaction and repeat business.
The successful candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge and experience in concrete construction processes, line and grade management, and foreman-level supervision. You will be responsible for planning work sequences, coordinating resources, executing daily job site activities, and managing a team of direct reports with a clear focus on safety compliance and workforce development.
This position requires up to 25 percent travel, providing you an opportunity to work on diverse projects and environments while expanding your expertise and professional network. Baker Construction offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, supporting employees in building rewarding careers while maintaining work-life balance. If you are motivated to make an impact, have the grit to follow through, and aspire to grow within a company that values ambition and initiative, joining Baker Construction as an Area Superintendent is your pathway to defining your career on your own terms.
