Job Description
The Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta is a prestigious hospitality establishment situated in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, renowned for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and wellness-oriented services. As part of Marriott International, the Westin brand stands out globally for its dedication to empowering travelers to enhance their well-being while on the move. This flagship hotel brings together culture, talent, and a vibrant atmosphere that prioritizes guest comfort and staff excellence, making it a premier destination for both leisure and business travelers in the region. The Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta's dedication to wellness is reflected in its unique programming designed to help guests be the best version of themselves, fostering an environment where associates also embrace holistic well-being practices. The hotel's dynamic team culture values diversity, inclusivity, and mutual respect, ensuring that employees thrive both professionally and personally.
This full-time, non-management Food and Beverage role is based on-site at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta, located at 210 Peachtree St NW. The position is centered around bartending responsibilities, including preparing drink orders accurately according to established recipes using precise measuring systems, ensuring guests receive top-quality beverages every time. The candidate will be responsible for managing wine and champagne service, maintaining a spotless and well-organized bar area, and preparing fresh garnishes that enhance drink presentation. Additionally, the role involves stocking supplies such as ice, glassware, and paper items, and transporting these to the bar setup area as needed. Hygiene and cleanliness are critical; the associate will wash soiled glassware promptly and clear used dishes and utensils from the bar and tables efficiently. Maintaining inventory and anticipating replenishment needs are crucial to seamless service, alongside processing all payment methods efficiently and securely handling financial transactions by completing end-of-shift cashier reports and securing the cash bank. The worker must also maintain the security of liquor and storage areas by adhering to company policies.
The role requires adherence to all company safety and security policies, including reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions, completing mandatory safety training and certifications, and upholding a professional personal appearance at all times. The bartender will actively engage guests, greet them warmly, anticipate service needs, and express genuine appreciation to ensure an exceptional hospitality experience. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and interpersonal, are essential to foster positive relationships with team members and support a collaborative work environment. Physical demands include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods, lift or manipulate objects up to 50 pounds, and move efficiently through various spaces within the hotel environment. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of related work experience and a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with no supervisory experience required. The Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta values associates who are passionate, optimistic, adventurous, and committed to maintaining their well-being, both on and off the property, aligning with the brand's wellness mission. With a focus on personal and professional growth, this role offers an opportunity to be part of a globally recognized hospitality leader dedicated to inclusivity, diversity, and excellent guest service.
