Job Description
The City of Blue Ash, located in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, is a vibrant and growing community known for its commitment to quality of life and excellent public services. Among its many attractions is Summit Park, a sprawling 130-acre green space that serves as one of the premier outdoor event venues in the region. Summit Park hosts a wide range of community programming, seasonal events, and private rentals, making it a hub of activity and engagement for residents and visitors alike. The City of Blue Ash values innovation, community involvement, and maintaining a family-friendly environment, reflected through its various park programs and city-wide events.
We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Events and Programs Coordinator to become an integral part of our Programming and Events Team at Summit Park. This part-time permanent position offers an average of 20 to 25 hours per week year-round, providing the opportunity to actively participate in community engagement and event management. The coordinator will work under the guidance of the Summit Park Programming and Events Manager and will independently lead coordination efforts for community programming, including recurring event series and seasonal activities such as the Ice Rink at Summit Park. This role demands strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with various community partners, vendors, and city departments.
This role is ideal for a motivated individual with experience or a keen interest in event planning and community programming. The position requires flexibility as many events and rentals occur during evenings, weekends, and holidays to support the City's major summer events and other activities. The coordinator will also play a key role in managing contracts, invoicing, purchase orders, and ensuring smooth on-site event logistics, totaling a comprehensive event coordination experience.
Beyond the enriching work environment, the City of Blue Ash prides itself on offering a supportive employee experience. Employees in this role will benefit from paid on-site training, opportunities for leadership advancement, and merit increases based on performance. There are also contributions made to the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System, enhancing long-term financial security. Additionally, this position includes a free individual membership to the Blue Ash Recreation Center, with eligibility for discounted family memberships. Discounts at popular local establishments such as the Blue Ash Golf Course, Sand Trap Grill Restaurant, and Cafe Alma further enrich the benefits package, fostering a strong sense of community and employee well-being.
If you are passionate about community engagement, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and wish to grow professionally within a supportive municipal environment, the City of Blue Ash invites you to apply for the Events and Programs Coordinator position. Join a dedicated team that values creativity, service, and community spirit while contributing to the success of a major regional park and city event offerings.
