Job Description
Connally Independent School District is a public education institution dedicated to providing quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment for students from elementary through secondary levels. The district serves a diverse community, committed to academic excellence and the development of each student's full potential. With a focus on innovation, community engagement, and student success, Connally ISD strives to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive campus atmosphere where students, staff, and families work collaboratively to achieve educational goals.
We are currently seeking a Campus Receptionist to join our team. This is a professional, exempt position reporting directly to the Campus Principal with a pay grade of 2. The role is situated within the Elementary/Secondary department and involves providing vital reception and clerical support for the efficient functioning of the campus office. The Campus Receptionist acts as the front-line contact for visitors, parents, and staff, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment.
The Campus Receptionist’s primary responsibility is to handle incoming communications, greet visitors, and assist with a variety of administrative tasks. This position requires proficiency in managing a multi-line phone system, accurate message taking, and routing calls appropriately. Additionally, the receptionist is tasked with maintaining the visitor log and issuing visitor passes to ensure campus security and visitor management.
This role also includes clerical duties such as assisting parents with checking students in and out of school, preparing and distributing student identification cards, bus passes, parking stickers, and managing the distribution of student materials including homework requests. The receptionist handles incoming mail and documents and ensures appropriate distribution across the campus.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential to performing these duties effectively. The position demands the ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions precisely. Experience in a clerical office setting for at least two years is preferred, along with a high school diploma or GED. The ability to maintain confidentiality, follow district safety protocols, and emergency procedures is crucial for this role.
Physical demands of the job include prolonged sitting, occasional bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting, as well as repetitive hand motions due to frequent keyboarding and mouse use. The environment can involve irregular or prolonged hours and requires emotional control under stress, especially when dealing with frequent interruptions.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, friendly, and capable of managing multiple administrative tasks simultaneously in a school environment. By joining Connally Independent School District as a Campus Receptionist, you will play a key role in supporting the educational process and maintaining smooth campus operations, contributing positively to the experience of students, parents, faculty, and visitors alike.
