Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food preparation or kitchen management
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift kitchen supplies
  • flexibility to work during school hours and special events

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food preparation and kitchen management
  • strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition standards
  • experience with inventory management and food ordering
  • ability to manage daily food service operations efficiently
  • experience leading or working within a kitchen team preferred
  • understanding of dietary needs, allergies, and child nutrition
  • strong organizational and time-management skills
  • attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
  • positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively

Job Duties

  • Prepare nutritious, appealing meals and snacks that meet children’s developmental needs
  • encourage healthy eating habits and positive food experiences
  • maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and licensing standards
  • monitor and accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions
  • maintain accurate records of food allergies and meal substitutions
  • ensure compliance with all health regulations and guidelines
  • follow menus developed in collaboration with the Director
  • assist with food ordering, inventory management, and cost control
  • maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
  • partner with leadership and teachers to support overall child well-being
  • contribute to a positive school culture focused on care and development
