Job Description
Hotel Magdalena is a prestigious 89-room hotel located in Texas, dedicated to honoring the unique spring-fed culture and natural beauty that surrounds the area. Drawing design inspiration from the classic 1970s lake house ethos, this establishment offers guests a tranquil and sophisticated retreat amidst rolling grounds reflective of the Texan landscape. Part of the renowned Bunkhouse hospitality family, Hotel Magdalena combines a deep commitment to design, music, and genuine community experiences to create a memorable stay for visitors. The property is home to Summer House on Music Lane, a full-service restaurant embodying the casual yet refined vibe of a lake house weekend, serving honest and unpretentious dishes influenced by Austin’s vibrant gastronomy scene. Located on South Congress, this venue is more than a hotel restaurant — it’s a beloved local gathering spot that welcomes visitors every day of the week.
The Server Assistant role at Hotel Magdalena is a pivotal position that supports food service employees by ensuring efficient delivery of food to tables and maintaining cleanliness and stock in various service areas. Responsibilities include setting and clearing tables, replenishing linens, silverware, dishes, and glassware, as well as serving water, appetizers, and coffee to patrons. This position demands excellent communication skills, adept conflict resolution abilities, and a thorough knowledge of Bunkhouse policies to uphold the company’s culture, values, and stellar reputation both internally and externally. The Server Assistant plays a key role in fostering a welcoming and polished environment for guests while collaborating closely with staff, vendors, and partners to maintain exceptional service standards.
Open availability and flexibility are required due to the dynamic nature of hospitality operations, and the employee should take pride in contributing to a clean, safe, and pleasant environment. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking and culturally rich hospitality group that prioritizes community, design, and quality experiences. Hotel Magdalena offers competitive pay and a range of benefits designed to enhance work-life balance and support the health and growth of its employees. These include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plans with company match, generous paid time off, complimentary and discounted room stays, wellness initiatives such as complimentary Headspace access, and exclusive retail discounts. Candidates passionate about hospitality and dedicated to delivering unforgettable guest experiences will find this role rewarding and aligned with their career aspirations.
