The Summer Meals Kitchen Assistant position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule from 6am to 1:30pm, starting in late May or early June and running through the second week of August. Job Duties

  • Prepare and package meals for handout
  • Hand out meals to community members
  • Assist with dishwashing and clean-up of the kitchen area throughout the day and after meals have been served
  • Assist in helping unload truck deliveries
  • Receive, put away, rotate, and store items in an appropriate, organized & timely manner
  • Report any substandard quality of food received to the Assistant Food Service Director immediately
  • Assist in checking expiration dates on all inventory items
  • Demonstrate organization and professionalism in fulfilling the responsibilities of the job
  • Greet all students, faculty, staff, and visitors courteously
  • Cooperate with and work in a courteous manner with co-workers and other personnel
  • Dress appropriately for the position and work required as specified by the Assistant Food Service Director
  • Accept constructive criticism, feedback, suggestions, and seek to improve performance
  • Maintain confidentiality in the school operation
  • Adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, board policies and administrative rules
