Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton, located in Portland, Oregon, is a prestigious luxury hotel brand under the Marriott International portfolio, renowned worldwide for delivering exceptional guest experiences through unparalleled service and attention to detail. Established as a global leader in luxury hospitality, The Ritz-Carlton prides itself on setting the standard for rare and special luxury service, continually striving to provide guests with memorable moments that last long after their stay. As part of Marriott International's collection of award-winning properties, The Ritz-Carlton Portland offers a rich blend of culture, talent, and experiences, fostering an inclusive work environment where associates from diverse backgrounds are valued and celebrated. The company is committed to equal opportunity employment, creating an environment free of discrimination while empowering employees to be creative, thoughtful, and compassionate in their roles.

The Housekeeping Coordinator role at The Ritz-Carlton Portland is a part-time, non-management position located on-site at 900 SW Washington St. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that the hotel's gold standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are consistently met. The coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of housekeeping activities, including running sold room reports, verifying room status, and prioritizing room cleanings to meet guest and hotel needs efficiently. Acting as the communication hub, the coordinator liaises between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to resolve discrepancies, coordinate room assignments, and ensure timely readiness of rooms. This position also involves monitoring 'Do Not Disturb' room statuses and updating housekeeping staff accordingly.

Beyond operational duties, the Housekeeping Coordinator supports the management team by assisting in daily housekeeping activities and maintaining accurate records through required paperwork. They play an essential role in upholding the company's safety, security, and quality standards by reporting maintenance issues, adhering to company policies, and ensuring a professional appearance at all times. The role demands the ability to interact positively with guests by welcoming and anticipating their service needs in alignment with The Ritz-Carlton's Guest Service Values, which contributes to building lasting customer relationships.

This position requires physical stamina, as the coordinator will be standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and handling objects up to 10 pounds without assistance. Although no supervisory experience is required, candidates should have at least one year of related housekeeping experience and prefer flexibility in shifts to accommodate the hotel’s operational needs. The Ritz-Carlton fosters a supportive team environment where collaboration, clear communication, and mutual respect are paramount – making this an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and dedicated to delivering luxury service.

Joining The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of a globally respected luxury hospitality brand that offers associates the chance to grow, learn, and thrive in a diverse and inclusive workplace. This role not only allows you to contribute directly to guest satisfaction and hotel excellence but also to be part of a team that values your potential and supports your professional development. If you are looking to be part of a company where you can do your best work, begin your purpose, belong to a global community, and become the best version of yourself, The Ritz-Carlton Portland invites you to apply and embark on a rewarding hospitality career journey.
