The role of Suicide Prevention Coordinator at GDIT presents a unique opportunity to work closely with federal civilian agencies, particularly supporting Special Operations Forces (SOF) units. This position is vital in ensuring the psychological well-being, readiness, and resilience of service members and their families. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), the Suicide Prevention Coordinator (SPC) acts as a subject matter expert in suicide prevention policies and program execution at the component level. This influential role involves leading and developing suicide prevention initiatives through clinical support and integration of evidence-based practices. The SPC will participate in key meetings, review research to incorporate best practices, apply professional social work procedures, consult with military and medical personnel, and provide clinical supervision to unlicensed providers or trainees.

The ideal candidate for this role will hold a Master of Social Work degree from an accredited institution, possess at least two years of peer-reviewable clinical social work experience in a mental health setting, and have a demonstrated understanding of professional clinical social work standards and ethics. Experience in brief behavioral interventions and government health settings like the Department of the Army (DoW) or VA Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF) is highly preferred. The position also requires the ability to obtain or hold a Secret or Top-Secret security clearance, essential for working within sensitive military environments.
