The Substitute Teacher position at Legacy Traditional Schools plays a pivotal role in maintaining a seamless learning experience in the absence of the regular teacher. The individual in this role is entrusted with delivering educational content, managing student behavior, and upholding the school’s established routines, ensuring that students continue their growth and achieve their potential without interruption. The Substitute Teacher will report to the school secretary upon arrival and will closely follow lesson plans prepared by the absent teacher while being ready to consult with school principals whenever necessary. Job Duties
- Report to the school secretary upon arrival
- review all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day
- maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classroom
- teach the lesson(s) outlined and described in the Substitute Teacher’s Folder
- consult with the building principal before initiating any unplanned procedures
- oversee pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess
- report in writing on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day
