Job Description
The Valley View Public School District is a dedicated educational institution that serves a wide community through its 19 schools. Committed to fostering a supportive and healthy learning environment, the District values nutrition as a key component of student well-being and academic success. The District is looking to hire part-time Nutrition Services Substitutes to assist with the food service operations across all schools when regularly assigned staff members are unavailable. These substitute positions play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and consistency of nutrition services offered to students throughout the district.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to work flexible hours on an as-needed basis
- willingness to work in multiple school locations across the district
- ability to follow instructions and supervisor guidance
- commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene
- customer-oriented attitude
- ability to perform repetitive tasks
- no criminal record that would prevent working in a school setting
Job Qualifications
- physical ability to perform various food service tasks
- good health
- excellent customer service skills
- good work habits
- ability to work as a team player
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- previous experience in food service is preferred but not required
Job Duties
- prepare food
- serve food
- wash pots and pans
- clean kitchen at the end of meal service
- report to and follow instructions from the Nutrition Services manager
- cover food service responsibilities during staff absences
- adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
