Job Description
Marriott International is a leading global hospitality company renowned for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and a diverse portfolio of brands. Among its prestigious lineup is W Hotels, a brand that stands out for its innovative approach to luxury, blending contemporary design with vibrant experiences. W Hotels is dedicated to creating a culture and service philosophy that ignites curiosity and expands worlds for its guests. This vibrant and dynamic environment is reflective of the company’s core values that encourage originality, inclusivity, and forward-thinking. Marriott International prides itself on fostering a workplace where associates' unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences are celebrated, ensuring a welcoming and equal opportunity environment.
This position offers a full-time, non-management role located at 201 Park Ave S, New York, NY. The offered pay range is $17.00 to $21.75 per hour, with the addition of tip eligibility, providing a competitive compensation package for individuals passionate about the food and beverage industry. The role is pivotal in ensuring guest satisfaction by delivering exceptional food service and maintaining high standards of hospitality.
As a Food and Beverage Substitute Server at W Hotels, you will play an essential role in the guest dining experience by serving food courses and alcoholic beverages with professionalism and care. This role requires setting tables according to the event type and adhering strictly to service standards that enhance guests' experiences. You will be responsible for providing knowledgeable answers to menu questions and coordinating closely with the kitchen team to manage orders, communicate about special dietary requirements, allergies, or any additional needs guests may have. The position demands attention to detail in transactions, utilizing the MICROS point-of-sale system to ensure accurate order recording and payment processing.
Beyond the direct service role, you will be instrumental in maintaining cleanliness of work areas, including glassware and china, which contributes to the overall ambiance and hygiene standards of the restaurant. Closing duties such as restocking and securing the restaurant environment also form part of your responsibilities. This job requires adherence to Marriott’s rigorous safety and security policies, along with effective communication skills to provide clear, professional interaction not only with guests but also with team members.
As part of the W Hotels team, you will experience a workplace culture that emphasizes genuine appreciation of guests, inclusivity, and teamwork. Physical stamina and coordination are important to this role, given the need to stand, walk, and handle objects of varying weights throughout shifts. The company also supports its associates by providing safety training and certifications to ensure a secure and comfortable working environment safely.
Joining W Hotels means becoming part of a leading hospitality brand that values innovation and excellence. You will be encouraged to bring your unique perspective and energy to a team that is passionate about redefining luxury hospitality globally. This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking to advance their careers in the food and beverage sector within a respected international company that supports growth and diversity.
