Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or other educational background necessary for position
- knowledge of proper cleaning practices and procedures in an educational environment
- ability to perform semi-skilled building and equipment repairs
- ability to use landscape and snow removal equipment
- such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable

Job Duties
- Keep building and premises neat and clean including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas
- perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, dusting, dry mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, graffiti removal, waxing, scrubbing, stripping, polishing, window cleaning, and trash removal
- perform outdoor tasks including snow and ice removal, mowing, trimming, edging, leaf raking, sweeping and cleaning parking lots and playgrounds, cleaning roof drains, and keeping grounds free of litter, debris and graffiti
- sanitize restrooms
- perform interior and exterior painting
- execute written and oral instructions
- maintain custodial closets and storerooms
- secure buildings and equipment
- climb and work from ladders and scaffolding
- perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing lamps, ceiling tiles, and repairs
- set up and break down chairs, tables, podiums and other equipment for events
- promptly report building deficiencies and required repairs
- report vandalism or damage to school property immediately
- perform other delegated tasks by manager or head custodian
