With a strong focus on engagement, education, and empowerment, the district fosters a collaborative and supportive atmosphere for both employees and students alike. Hiring a substitute cleaner aligns with the district's mission to ensure all facilities are properly maintained and welcoming at all times.
The position of Substitute Cleaner offers a flexible, part-time employment opportunity within the maintenance and custodial department of the Spencerport School District. This role involves performing essential cleaning duties critical to the upkeep of building interiors, furniture, and fixtures. Substitute cleaners are expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across various school facilities throughout the academic year. The available shifts range flexibly from early morning at 7:00 am to late evening at 11:00 pm, providing ample scheduling options for potential candidates. The role carries a competitive hourly wage of $19.00, reflecting the district’s appreciation for reliable and hard-working staff.
Prospective candidates must be prepared to comply with New York State Education Department requirements, including fingerprinting and clearance for employment. The district supports employees in this process by reimbursing the fingerprinting fee after 10 days of employment, emphasizing its commitment to ethical hiring practices and legal compliance. Preference is given to those with prior experience in building cleaning and maintenance, although new workers with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
This substitute cleaner role is vital in helping the district maintain a clean, sanitary, and pleasant environment that enhances the daily experience for students, teachers, and visitors. By keeping building interiors and fixtures in top condition, substitute cleaners contribute directly to promoting health and safety standards that align with district policies and state regulations. The role demands attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Applicants interested in contributing to a highly respected educational community should be ready to engage in meaningful work that supports the district’s overarching goal to engage, educate, and empower every individual.
