The role of Substitute Bar Server at Mandarin Oriental New York is an exciting opportunity within the Food and Beverage department, specifically in the newly opened outlet known as The Bar. This position involves maintaining a clean and inviting environment, providing outstanding customer service, and supporting the overall team to ensure a legendary experience for every guest. As a Substitute Bar Server, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the guest journey by addressing inquiries about menu offerings, taking orders accurately, anticipating and responding to guest needs, and facilitating seamless beverage and dining experiences. This position reports to the Bar Manager and Food and Beverage Manager, reflecting the importance of integrated teamwork and communication in achieving service excellence.

In this role, your responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining your assigned station, retrieving supplies, serving beverages while complying with all applicable liquor laws, and ensuring cleanliness and organization throughout the service area. The Substitute Bar Server will also be expected to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the food and beverage menu, especially mixed drinks, cocktails, and wines, to effectively upsell products and enhance guest satisfaction. Furthermore, this role requires excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to scheduling, and a commitment to upholding Mandarin Oriental's high standards of service consistently. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $17.95 to $23.93, depending on experience, along with a competitive benefits package through the Employee Benefits Fund.
