Job Description

Pyramid Global Hospitality is a renowned hospitality company that prides itself on its People First culture. With over 230 properties worldwide, Pyramid Global Hospitality is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment that nurtures diversity, growth, development, and employee wellbeing. The company focuses on building meaningful relationships within the workforce, promoting an atmosphere where employees feel valued and empowered. Pyramid Global Hospitality offers a comprehensive range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, on-site wellness programs, local discounts, and special employee rates on hotel stays. Employees also benefit from ongoing training and development opportunities designed to help them build skills and advance their careers. Whether someone is new to the hospitality industry or a seasoned professional, Pyramid Global Hospitality offers a collaborative environment that encourages success and growth.

The role is based at the Residence Inn by Marriott Berkeley, a striking 17-story hotel located in the heart of Downtown Berkeley, California. This vibrant hotel features 331 suites with fully equipped kitchens, separate living spaces, and modern amenities. It offers over 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, complemented by a rooftop restaurant and bar with spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay Area. The location is highly accessible, just half a block from the Downtown Berkeley BART station and several bus routes, making it convenient for commuting.

This particular role focuses primarily on wedding sales and revenue generation. The key responsibilities include driving wedding-related event sales for various spaces such as the Study Hall Rooftop Lounge and Residence Inn Berkeley’s function space. These events encompass engagement parties, bridal and wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, welcome receptions, farewell brunches, after-parties, and other wedding weekend events connected to hotel room blocks. The candidate will be involved in proactive selling and closing of wedding business through outbound prospecting, leveraging referrals, planners, venues, and partnerships. It also involves managing a consistent and accurate wedding sales pipeline, conducting personalized site tours, creating customized proposals, negotiating contracts, and driving incremental revenue through bundled offerings.

Wedding event planning support and execution are vital components of this role. The candidate will act as the main point of contact for wedding clients from inquiry through post-event follow-up, preparing accurate event documentation and partnering closely with culinary, banquets, front office, and hotel leadership to ensure flawless event execution. Moreover, the role includes supporting social media activation with a focus on weddings. Collaborating with the digital marketing team, the candidate will assist in promoting the rooftop as a wedding destination, creating engaging content, converting social media inquiries into qualified leads, and participating in influencer collaborations and styled shoots.

Partnership development and programming related to weddings are also key. The role requires establishing connections with wedding planners, preferred vendors, and referral partners while collaborating with culinary teams to design wedding reception menus and welcome packages. This position demands a highly organized individual with strong client communication skills, proven success in social event sales, and a collaborative, service-driven mindset aligned with Pyramid Global Hospitality’s core values. The role requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience and offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $85,000 annually. Pyramid Global Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring a welcoming environment for all employees.
