The role of Office Assistant at Kokernot Hall, part of Baylor's Campus Living & Learning department, is an essential position contributing to the smooth operations and safety of the residence hall community. This position is designed for student employees who are enthusiastic about providing excellent administrative support and outstanding customer service within an on-campus living environment. The Office Assistant supports residents, parents, visitors, faculty, and staff by serving as a knowledgeable resource and a point of contact for various needs and inquiries.
As an Office Assistant, you will be stationed within Kokernot Hall, one of Baylor's residence halls, and will play a critical role in upholding Baylor’s high standards for safety and community living. You will assist with front desk operations, monitor door security, help residents with room access issues, and oversee equipment check-out processes. A key part of the role involves maintaining accurate and detailed logs of daily activities such as unlock codes, maintenance requests, lost and found items, and gift registry records.
Your role will also include enforcing Campus Living & Learning policies and procedures to ensure a safe and respectful environment. Being an Office Assistant at Baylor means demonstrating strong communication skills, sound judgment to address any crises or concerns promptly, and the ability to work well with a diverse group of people. The work schedule is flexible, with hours between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m., accommodating students’ academic obligations. The position offers a pay rate of $8.00 per hour and can be ongoing throughout the fall or spring semesters.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to work flexible hours including some holiday breaks
- ability to type and use computer software
- good communication skills

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in an administrative or customer service role preferred
- basic computer skills including typing

Job Duties
- Monitor door security and inform appropriate staff if any issues arise
- provide administrative support to residents including room access support and checking out equipment
- assist in maintaining accurate log books for unlock codes, maintenance issues, equipment check-out, lost and found, and gift registries
- be knowledgeable of on-campus locations and resources
- support residents in communicating issues of concern to other members of the hall staff
- enforce and uphold Campus Living & Learning policies and procedures
- complete other administrative tasks as assigned by the supervising Residence Hall Director
