The role of Student Worker - Barista at Aramark is designed to deliver a memorable customer experience by preparing high-quality beverages and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. This part-time position is ideal for students looking to build valuable customer service skills while working in a fast-paced and supportive setting. The Student Worker - Barista is responsible for operating the cash register and point of sale system to accurately process customer transactions including cash and credit payments. Following established recipes and brand standards, this individual prepares a variety of coffees, teas, and specialty beverages as well as food items to meet Aramark’s quality and consistency expectations. Maintaining inventory by stocking beverage coolers and grab-and-go items as well as ensuring service ware and condiments are readily available are important aspects of the job.
Attention to cleanliness is a key responsibility, involving the setup and breakdown of the coffee bar and workstations, along with regular cleaning and sanitizing to comply with health and safety standards. The barista must adhere to food safety policies, maintain sanitary work environments, and adhere to company cash handling procedures. This role may require physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, as well as extended periods of walking and standing. The ability to follow standardized dress codes and wear personal protective equipment when necessary is mandatory. Through this role, students gain hands-on experience, develop customer interaction competencies, and contribute to the seamless operations of food and beverage service at Aramark locations. Job Duties
- accurately operate a register/pos and handle cash and credit card transactions
- greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs
- prepare and serve coffees, teas, specialty beverages per brand standards
- prepares and serve food items in line with location standards
- count, organize and balance cash drawer, fill out the cashier slip and make deposits
- adheres to aramark's cash handling policies and procedures
- set up and breakdown coffee bar, stations or store including cleaning and sanitizing
- maintain clean and sanitary work area
- stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware and condiments
- follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
