The Red’s Shift Supervisor position at Sacred Heart University is a critical role responsible for overseeing the nightly operations of Red’s Pub, a vibrant student union facility. This role demands an individual who is knowledgeable about and committed to adhering to Student Union policies, university guidelines, and state laws as they apply to the facility’s operation. The Shift Supervisor works with student staff to ensure a smooth and compliant service environment, promoting a positive atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and guests. Key responsibilities include supervising the pub’s operation, scheduling, managing inventory and product control, training personnel, and handling financial transactions. The role also emphasizes innovation and enhancement of pub facilities, as well as staff morale and programming participation. The position requires someone who is professional, responsible, positive, and resourceful, with strong communication and managerial skills. While prior restaurant experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. The work schedule is weekday evenings from 4 pm to 12 am, providing the incumbent with a focused timeframe to contribute to this dynamic social hub. Overall, this role combines leadership, compliance, customer service, and operations management to support a vital component of campus life at Sacred Heart University.

Job Requirements
- Be lawfully authorized to work in the United States
- have a high school diploma or equivalent
- possess prior supervisory or management experience (preferred)
- demonstrate knowledge of state laws related to alcohol and public safety
- be able to work the assigned evening hours from 4 pm to 12 am Monday through Thursday
- possess strong communication skills
- be responsible and professional in conduct

Job Duties
- Supervise the nightly operation of Red’s Pub
- ensure that all Student Union, University, and State policies and procedures are upheld
- coordinate the weekly scheduling of Red’s Pub staff in conjunction with the Student Union
- manage Red’s Pub and staff
- oversee product and inventory
- assist in the coordination of training for all SUM and Pub staff members
- contribute to innovation of Pub facilities, operations, and programming
- promote staff morale and team dynamics
- assist in the promotion and programming of the Pub
- properly handle all money and sales receipts for the shift
- other duties and responsibilities as required
